It's not that muslims can't take pictures of people, it'd that muslims can't display them, in which for example: for women who are not properly covered, it's best if the pictures of them are not displayed because they can be or may be seen by the non-mahram (not of kin) because it is considered haraam (prohibited) in Islam
Unnecessary pictures of living beings are not encouraged in Islam. There is a particular reason behind this. The sturdy of the history of mankind shows that Idol worship started by portraying the poise personalities in pictures and in idols.
Unfortunately, even now many Muslims decorate their houses with the pictures of Religious Personalities, Peers, Scholars, and dear ones. They show respect and reverence to these pictures. It ultimately leads to Idol Worship-Hero Worship.
Worship and Reverence of extreme kind is due to ONLY ONE Almighty Allah Karim. There should not be even an iota of doubt in this reverence that must be shown ONLY and ONLY to ONE Almighty God, Who is the Sole Creator, Sustainer, Provider and Ruler of the Heavens and the earth. He has No Son, No Parents and NO PARTNER.
Taking pictures of graves is a useless act. Islam does not appreciate it. And if the picture of a grave is taken for the purpose of a kind of Worship, it is not allowed in Islam. Anyhow, many Muslims don't bother to follow the rules of Islam as do many followers of other religions by not following the rules of their religion.
You shouldn't take pictures at the actual ceremonial, but it is definitely alright to take pictures with family members after the burial at the gathering.
