No. They speak Italian not Spanish.

Yes, Latin language started in Italy (Peninsula Italica), and as Roman Empire became larger and larger, it included later Spain (Peninsula Iberica) and some other modern European countries (Portugal, France and Romania).

Not calling the Italians "Latino" is the biggest mistake that somebody can make. No sorry, there is another even bigger mistake; calling the South American Latinos. Hispanics, maybe, but Latinos is not correct.
