it sound like there is a short either in one of the connections or possibly a ground it could also be broken wire or smashed your question did not say whether it shuts down immediately or if it happens after it warms up could also be in the fuse box connection loose fuses also can cause this check to make sure all are pushed all the way in and the the fuse is not going out my steps would be 1# check fuses 2# note all components affected make a list 3# check for pinched or loose wires if you are not familiar with electrical have it done or you can do more damage you might be able to look at the mechanic book for you vehicle and look at the trouble shooting section for possible remedy also can check with consumer affairs for any recall for the problem it could save you money
