Universal remotes need to be programmed to the T.V. in order for the remote to work on the T.V.
I know this tv can be programmed with just about any universal remote or cable remote the onoly problem I've come across is once i programmed the remote and tv if i try to turn the volume up or down the channel goes up or down
To program a Symphonic TV with an RCA RCR-612 universal remote, there are four codes which you can try. Those codes are 1033, 1038, 1046, and 1047. To try the codes, press and hold the TV button on the universal remote. After you enter the fourth digit, the power light will turn on. Once the light is on, release the TV key. If the power light turns off, you have the correct code and can now use the remote. If the light blinks, it isn't the right code and you need to repeat the procedure until you find the right code for your particular TV.
Here are some codes I found online but none seem to work for my remote. Codes for Magnavox TV when using RCA Universal Remote: 006,007,010,011,013,016,027,033,035,043,066,087,089
If an RCA Universal Remote's on-off light will not turn off and the remote is frozen, take the batteries out for a while. Then, put the batteries back in and try it. If it is still frozen, a new one might have to be purchased.
depends on if it is a flatscreen TV or not
To program the remote with the codes, firstly, turn on the electronic gadget for which you are going to use this remote, by pressing the On and Off button. Then locate the Setup or the Code Search key on the remote control. These buttons may vary from remote to remote. Just hold on the setup or the code search key for 5 - 10 seconds or till the light on the remote
Well the same thing happend to me cause well the remote "flew" out of my hand so i bought a GE universal remote, it works terribly, u have to hold down a button for three seconds to turn one channel and to turn the tv on and off...it may be the remote but im gonna try again....so hopefully this helped you!
One can find Direct TV remote control codes by following instructions when setting up their TV. Turn the TV on and set the remote to "TV". If one does the setting up correctly, the TV will turn off when the code is right.
normally you press the power button on the tv. if that is not possible then grab the remote for that tv and press the power button on the remote control. in the case where neither of the first 2 suggestions did not worked or is impossible then i would say use a universal remote control with the learning feature. these types of remotes can turn on mostly any device with an ir sensor. just point and click. using a universal learning remote should solve this tv problem for you.
The alkali makes a universal indicator turn blue.
Turn on the component you wish to sync to your universal remote--your television, DVD player, VCR or stereo.Point the remote at the device you are programming and press the corresponding device button on the remote. These buttons are labeled "TV," "VCR", "DVD," etc. Hold the device button for three to five seconds.Push the power button on the remote. This should turn on the device that you are syncing.Push the "Channel Up" or "Channel Down" button on your remote gradually until the device that you are programming shuts off.Press "OK" or "Enter" on the remote once the synced device turns off.Press the device button for the component you just programmed, and hit the power button while pointing the remote at the component. If programmed correctly, the device should turn on, and you should be able to control it with your Living Solutions Universal Remote.
