Most bulbs have dual functions. Take the bulb out and look at it. It should have two springs inside. and if one of the springs are broken replace the bulb.

Try chamging the bulb, and if that doesnt solve your problem, check all the wiring.

The wiring is damaged. It's a known problem with that series. The most probable place to look for damage is the left trunk hinge.
