3. The good news is they will usually except any type of repayment plan as long as you talk to them about the situation. However, they will take your tax refunds or garnish your wages if you don't contact them and make an effort to pay them something.

Can you protect your home in chapter 7 bankruptcy in Arkansas?

When you fill out the forms for the bankruptcy, make sure that you "reaffirm" the mortgage. That means that you will continue to pay the mortgage as agreed. The bankruptcy trustee that will be assigned to your case will guide you through the rest. HIRE AN ATTORNEY!! IF you own a home,,,NEVER go it alone for a bankruptcy.

How long do you have to wait to file chapter 13 bankruptcy in Louisiana after you filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in Arkansas a few years ago in?

Assuming the chapter 7 led to a discharge, you may be able to file chapter 13 immediately, but the automatic stay may not last long without a motion to extend it indefinitely. If the filing date of the 7 was 10 years ago, you should not have this problem. Not all bankruptcy courts have interpreted the statutes and regulations the same way, so consult a local bankruptcy lawyer. Bankruptcy is a federal procedure in most states, and is the same from state to state, more or loss.

Do you have to be working to file for bankruptcy?

There are three types of bankruptcy namely Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, and Chapter 11 Business Bankruptcy. Chapter 7 bankruptcy will discharge most types of debts for the average citizen. It will stay on record for ten years, but the major benefit is the stay it provides which prevents creditors from hassling you. On the other hand Chapter 11 bankruptcy is used by businesses, not citizens, to reorganize debts while Chapter 13 bankruptcy is wage earner's bankruptcy, which allows you to repay your debt through a plan. Among these three, Chapter 13 bankruptcy is considered as the best option for people with a steady income, who happen to have fallen behind in loan payments. idk and i dont give rats a**. hahahaha
