not always, brown blood is old blood. It could be considered implantation bleeding. But if you are pregnant you should call your doctor. My light brown spotting turned into a miscarriage. BUT that is not always the case. I would call your doctors office ASAP if you are pregnant. Have you taken a test? If you do and it is negative, it could just be left over blood from your last period that never was released and is coming out now.

Christmas of 2007 I had a miscarriage. I did not know that I was pregnant because I had my period around the expected time, but then it did not stop... It was very heavy, but for some reason was not accompanied by any cramps. This was unusual for me, because I have always had long 7-9 day periods that were heavy, clotty, dark with unbearable cramps. After 16 days, I went to the doctor and they said that I had been pregnant but that my body was trying to abort the embryo for whatever reason and that they would have to perform an emergency DNC (scrap out the uterus & cauterize any bleeding locations.) The reason I stumbled apon this site is because for a week now I have had brownish spotting and then just this morning I woke up with very painful cramps in the ovary and back area accompanied with heavy flow.... I have only had sex with my husband 2 times since my last miscarriage (an issue for another day...LOL) but we used a condom both times.... So I'm going to give it about 5 days and if the bleeding doesn't subside then I will go see the Gyno. It's that 1% failure rate of the condom that I'm worried about.... guess we will see. Most women don't even know that they have aborted. To actually conceive and have a pregnancy go to full term is very much a miracle. What you experienced could have been a miscarriage, but it is hard to tell. Even if you went to the doctor and had an exam, unless there were high levels of pregnancy hormones still in your body, the doctor might not be able to tell if you were or weren't infact ever pregnant. I hope this helped somewhat.... Good Luck and Good Health! MunkyGirl88

if you have been bleeding for 3days you should ring your midwife or maternity unit who should bring you in for a scan to see if there has been a miscarriage. if you have had what they call clotting which is like a big clot of blood it could well be a sign that you have miscarried but the best thing you can do is get down to the hospital for a scan.

This is no time to be sitting at the computer asking us if you are having a miscarriage. Hopefully you aren't, but it's extremely important that you get to your doctor immediately and if he/she can't see you then go to the ER. You baby will be monitored. DO NOT DELAY!

That depends on how much bleeding? Did you recently have sex because that can cause some bleeding. You don't always have to be in pain to miscarry. You should call your ob/gyn immediately.
