MOT dont fail pads they fail brakes provided they meet performance criteria they will pass they may fail if they are clearly so thin that they squeel or are damaging the rotor or will be so by the next inspection, they may give a warning if there is less than 4-5mm down from the original 8-10 mm most pads have a lower limit groove at about 3mm and a steal tag that squeels and scrapes at about 1.5-2mm this is the last warning before serious rotor damage and potential failure will occur, finally pads often wear unevenly and can have a 4mm at on end but less than 2 at the other this would be a fail or warning generally fronts wear quicker as they take more weight abd innertia under braking. pads are resonably cheap so its better to change proactively its not a Major work damaged rotors(disc) are pricey and can be skimmed to the design limit stamped on the Disc
Low brake pads, misassembled brake parts?
Brake pads are part of the cars disk brakes. There are four different brake pads they are semi-metallic brake pads, organic brake pads, low-metallic NAO brake pads and ceramic brake pads.
Brake pads wear indicator (replace brake pads)? Bad wheel bearing? Low tire?
a low brake pedal indicates worn brake pads and shoes.have then replaced
Low brake fluid, pads worn down, other problems.
Well the first thing that you would want to do is to check your vehicles brake fluid. Typically, if the brake fluid is low then your brake pads probably need to be changed.
if your brake fluid is low, you probably need to replace your brake pads. If your pads are good and you fluid is low, you have a leak somewhere. By replacing your pads, the brake fluid level will rise to the proper level. If you add fluid now, then replace your pads, brake fluid will leak out the top of your fluid reservoir and most likely eat the paint off what ever it spills on. Brake fluid and car paint DO NOT MIX.
sounds like low brake pads.
The longest lasting brake pads are Ceramic Brake Pads. They are quiet, are low dust , handle heat better and recover more quickly which makes them better for more aggressive use situations.
Low brake fluid, worn front brake pads, worn rear brake shoes. If the fluid is low it is probably because the pads or shoes are worn and the missing fluid is in the front calipers or rear wheel cylinders. But check your brakes, stopping is much more important than starting.
That your emergency brake is on or that you are low on brake fluid or the brake pads are getting thin or some other brake malfunction
Whenever you want to but once your brakes start squeaking that means your brake pads are low or your discs/drums are wrapped and need to be skimmed or replacing
