As far as I understand the only difference between a 305 and a 350 is the cylinder bore and piston size so a cam from a 305 should work in a 350

This person is correct in that the measurements of the bore and stroke the only difference is the bore. where they are wrong is that the internal balance weight is different and usually the journal size is different.

As for a direct replacement, no it will not work, but with the help of a machine shop and some money it will work. However your money is better spent getting the right crank.
