You require a code reader to figure out what it's trying to tell you. You can get one for 60-80 bucks at your local parts store, or you can pay someone to read them for you. a flashing check engine indicates that the engine is misfiring or has misfired severely. the cheapest way out is to go to autozone and have them pull the code free of charge and then run the code by some real mechanics. if the engine is not running abnormally i would have them pull the code, erase the light and see if the light comes back on. if it does i would see my dealer or post the code on this site.
