Check your wire connections. If the wires are out of order, it may prevent the car from starting.
Check spark plug wires, and voltage on the distrubutor.
check all wiring and connections for proper hookup. if no start still, reinstall old cap and rotor. If no start still, do diagnostic on electrical system.
You should check the wires that are in the steering column to the ignition lock cylinder. They tend to break easily.
Changed the plugs wires cap n rotor on a 92 ranger 3.0. Now it wont start. Do i have to set the timing,n if so how?
Car just shut off checked getting fuel cranks good just wont turn over

First check for fire at any of the sparkplugs and if you have spark then check your fuel pressure and if its not within specs then replace the pump.
changed cluster checked all fuses and they aer good no bad or broken wires going to o/d switch
you must have the wires on the wrong way.
Could be a burnt out fusible link or a loose/disconnected wire.
You need three things to start a car: fuel, air, and an ignition source. Start by checking the air filter, the sparkplugs, and the gas level. If its not one of these it may be your battery or something more serious
you must check the firing order and compare that to the order on the distributor. Ask your dealer for this info, or get a book.
