there are two connections to the positive side of the battery, one to the starter, one to the accessories. some times corrosion get in between these two pieces. To correct this, i actual bought a battery with both positive connectors, (post and screw in) i hooked the starter up to one + part and the accessories to the other +. haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps
If all you get is a single click when you try to start the engine, check the starter solenoid/relay. If you get a series of rapid clicks, look for a loose battery/starter cable. If you get a single click and everything goes completely off, check for a loose battery cable (more likely the positive). You need to check all earth connections battery to chassis & chassis to engine/gearbox a quick and simple way to check is to attach a jump lead from the negative battery terminal to a good clean spot on the engine best wishes good luck
Try getting a new fuel filter.
I assume it is not starting? You turn the key and it goes click click click. You have a dead battery.
bad starter. Hit it with a hammer lightly while anothe person turns the key. suggestion, replace the starter.
Are you CERTAIN that it was reprogrammed correctly? If it was, then you've got other problems with the ignition system that will need diagnosing and you'll have to give more symptoms. Does the little red blinking light go out when you insert the key in the ignition? Does the relay 'click' when you turn the key? Does the engine turn over, but not 'catch?' Etc.
see my profile see link. click , maintenance then ignition timing. behold
Check the neutral safety switch Check battery cables for looseness or corrosion change the ignition starter relay found in the engine bay goggle ignition starter relay to view it.
From the information given, it is impossible to make a guess. Is it an 'electrical' click or a 'mechanical' click? Where is the "click"noise coming from? The engine compartment? the dashboard area? The ignition switch? the tapep player/radio? More info is needed.
Well somethings i need to know? Is the truck engine turning over and just not starting? If the truck is turning over i would first off guess either gas or elelctrical problems. If the starter is not turning the engine over, then i would point at the starter relay (you should hear that click when you turn the key). Also if you find that the relay is fine and it is just not clicking then i would look at the ignition switch on the steerin column. . ) Also, it may be the ignition control module. If the engine turns, but no spark, this could be the ptoblem also. Good Luck!
perhaps your neutral safety switch is going bad. or it was just misaligned.
autozone.com click repair on the right, and follow the directions. Then click engine electrical, then ignition system.
Click the link and choose the correct engine.
sounds like the starter motor needs replacing it is not the solenoid or it would not click
This is normal in 2002 and later models because of the electronic control box.
Sounds like a weak or dead battery check with a voltmeter should be about 12.8 volts- charge battery Could be a bad starter solenoid or bad starter Worst case could be a seized engine
Your engine could be locked up. You can tell by putting a ratchet and socket on the crank pulley and turning the engine by hand. If you can't turn it by hand the engine is siezed up. An easier way is to turn on the headlamps so you can see their brightness like the wall of your garage. You hit the starter and if the lights go real dim then either the engine is seized up or your starter is seized up.
It means it's not turning over due to lack of power to the engine so you might have a dead battery Try and jump it.. if that doesn't work then try and replace the battery and/or take it in and get a diagnostics done to see what other reasons their could be for it not turning over.
It could be, a dead battery, dirty or loose battery connections, a bad starter, the engine is seized.
Seized Engine? Weak or dead battery? Loose or corroded battery cables? Bad starter solenoid? Bad starter? Bad neutral safety switch? Bad ignition switch?
