Pantomimes were invented for many different reasons. However the main reason why they were invented is to entertain an audience and to express a fairytail story in a different way, other than just reading or writing. They are aimed at families with young children and the elderlies. It has been researched that those are the age groups that most enjoy pantiomimes. They are mostly performed and watched in the Christmas season, although the actual performance does not relate to christmas.
