Why was there no depression in 1987?

Well maybe there wasn't absolutely NO depression but certainly not alot of it. Around the 60's to the 90's is looked back on as the happy years, Technology hadn't quite reached it's peek, Which meant people went out more, People were laid back "hippies" and people had more of a family together vibe, It was oviously after the "Great World wars" and before the whole "Iraq" thing, so for quite a period of time there wasn't much country rivalry and violence. This could effect peoples "out look" on life but remember Depression is usually something your born with, But that's not to say that this "free spirited" environment didn't help calm things down, BONUS- around the 90's there was a time where there was a fashion called the Grunge look, Imagine that not having to do much to your appearance was actually style WOW that must have been great. But "manic depression" is one of the newest mental illnesses to actually be diagnosed.
