A Revolution is a a a sudden, complete or marked change in something, so in the case of the Scientific Revolution, there were many breakthroughs in the scientific fields, which made people curious about the future of Scientific inventions, thus making it a "Scientific" Revolution

At that time the church thought that the Earth was the center of the universe and they thought that they were right all the time and Nicolas Copernicus proved them wrong and they got angry at him for doing that because a lot of people didn't trust the church any more.

Nicolaus Copernicus wrote the book "De revolutionibus orbium coelestium" translated as "On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres" or "On the Revolution of the Heavenly Bodies"
