Why is Mecca is a sacred city in Islam?

The holy city of Makka was established by Hazrat Abraham (AS) and his son Hazrat Ismaiel (AS). Both of them built the Kaaba (The House of Almighty Allah). Then they sent a call to the world people to come to Makka for pilgrimage. Many of the Prophets of Allah are buried in the Kaaba. People from all over the world used to come to Makka for pilgrimage even before the birth of the last Prophet of Islam (MPBUH).

Mecca "Makkah" is so special to us as Muslims for many reasons including: It houses the first ever built house of God "Allah" on earth being the Kabbah "black bluiding in the middle of the holey masjid now". This current Kabbah is built on the ruins of the first house of God built by the angles. Secondly, we are ordered to direct our phases to it when praying for Allah during our 5 daily prayers.

Also, our prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him and all Allah's prophets, was born in Makkah and brought up their, and most importantly, the revelation of Islam and the Quran started in Makkah too in Hira'a cave which is looking over to Makkah.

Also, going to Makkah is very important to us as praying in Makkah holey Majid equal 100,000 thousand salat. Meaning if you pray in any other place in the world you will get the virtue of one salat for each of the five salats you make daily which can be multiplied to 25 if you pray it with mulims in the mosque not alone. But this will be multiplied to 100,000 salat in Makkah masjid.

Further, Makkah is the place we perform Omra "circuling around the holey Kabbah + running between the Safa and Marwa mountains as Hajar did", and it is the place where we also perform Hajj.

Performing Omra will forgive all the sins committed before it, but peforming Hajj brings you back as pure as a new born baby.

Because Mecca is where the religion on Islam (or Muslims) was origionated, in Mecca, Saudia Arabia. They pray 5 times a day, facing Mecca.It is also the place where the prophets were born, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born there as well, he is the last prophet and he is our leader
