Nope. :D I actually have all 3 games installed on my computer. The games do not conflict with each other or make any contact. Maxis created The Sims and EA Games created The Sims 2. Although both are EA brands they are from different sides of EA which is exactly why. When installing The Sims 2 make sure you have enough space. Have fun!

No, only The Sims Online does. Though, Sims and Sims 2 have content you can download. I believe most of it is user created. Sites such as http://www.aroundthesims2.com or just use google to find others.
