Why Abigail Adams is still remembered...

Abigail is still remembered in history because she was the wife of the second president of the US. More importantly she is remembered because of her political influence on her husband. She was pro-woman empowerment. She wanted for people who did not have equal rights to be granted them. Eventually this became possible and women were allowed to vote and slavery was abolished

Since her husband, John Adams, was the second President of the United States and his closest confidant I would say she earned her place in history. That is aside from her being brilliant, for a female of the time, and assisting her husband when ever needed in issues of state.

she was wife of a president and a mother of another

She was the wife of John Adams and had 6 children. Her letters to him still exist and she expresses herself very well about the place of women in society and government. She encourages him to think about women when passing laws. Much of her life was spent with him gone and she had to run the farm. She reports watching the battle of Bunker Hill from the backyard and how worried she is of British troops coming to the farm. When John becomes president she is the only second woman to be First Lady and moved into the unfinished White House.
