Even rainwater is contaminated by pollutants, and dust minerals in the air.

Once the rain has fallen into a valley catchment, it will then pick up more minerals from the land, and organic pollutants from animals and birds.

For very pure water, you not only have to distill it. Preferably in a tin-coated apparatus to minimise contamination from the process, - glass apparatus will leach minute trace minerals.

For very pure water needed in such as preparation for mass spectrometer, the distilled water will have to be passed through an ion-exchange column to de-ionize it.

It depends what water you are talking about.
Condensed water made in sterile condition is pure (Distilled water). Water created by burning hydrogen and oxygen in a sterile environment is pure.
If you're talking about water that is in a stream then that has all sorts of bugs and microbes in it, not to mention a lot of surface run off contaminants such as pesticides, sewage and other toxins.
Rain water isn't pure because it passes through air carrying airborne contaminant's.

Any container in which water is placed will be at least slightly water soluble; even glass dissolves slightly (forming silicic acid). Some components of the air (such as carbon dioxide) are also water soluble. Practically everything in the environment potentially can dissolve in the water. Some impurity is therefore inevitable.

Its a compound of hydrogen and oxygen.

Technically if you had 100 % pure water is would be a pure substance.

But in reality it is impossible to have anything 100 % pure.

Because it mixes with different things in the environment. Distilled water is pure.

Certainly. If you double your money over some period of time, you have made 100 percent. If you triple it, you have a 200% gain. Earnings are usually calculated as an annual percent gained, and it is unusual to find investments that will double in one year, but not impossible.
