The Treaty of Paris in 1783 ended the American Revolutionary War. In the treaty, Great Britain formally recognized the former American colonies as independent and sovereign states.
It also established the boundaries of British North America, protected the rights and property of Loyalists, provided for the settlement of debts on each side, and provided for the exchange of prisoners of war.

The treaty or versailles was significant because it was the starting point for many of germanys problems, which are also known as the five problems of the weimar republic. Many of the political parties tried to overthrow the government because they thought that Germany was cowardly for losing the war, the invasion of the Ruhr would never had happened if germany didn't have to give coal to France and belguim. Also a new currency wouldn't have had to be brought in if it wasn't for the government having to print more money to pay back the 66 million pound reperation figure.
In all, without the treaty germany would not have face nearly half of the problems that arose due to the treaty being issued as a punishment.
