To tell the viewers that this is a movie produced by Pixar, and released by Disney. The Walt Disney Company bought Pixar Animation in 2006, so the films produced by Pixar are owned by Disney so a movie says it's a "Disney-Pixar film" because it has the cooperation of both studios.
It was named after their premiere graphics design computer, the Pixar Image Computer. However this name came from an imaginary Spanish verb "Pixar", to make pixels!
