Your personal presentation in a salon is extremely important because you, as a beauty therapist promote beauty products and treatments to your clients which are beneficial to them and greatly effective. Therefore its like you are like an example almost, you are the therapist. Why wouldn't you put some effort into your appearance when that is exactly what you do. Your personal presentation is also what your clients see when they get their first impression of your salon which you only get one chance at (and you want to make it a great one!) :). So look clean, tidy, professional and like you've put some effort in. Maybe a little bit of makeup (not heavy), clean hair always out of your face, and maintained personal hygiene as you may come in close contact with the client.

When that salon opens at 9 in the morning you become a walking advertisement and carer to your beauty treatment seeking clients. Present yourself well and they'll love you from the start. :)

Many different people attend spas and since many spa treatments often require partial or full nudity, it is important for the surfaces of anything that is touched to be thoroughly cleansed. Many diseases can be spread through germs left behind just from contact with infected skin.

In a place where so much contact is made with so much skin, the chance of body fluids being secreted onto these surfaces increase thus further increasing the chance of the spread of illness.
