Because the government is afraid they would lose money due to marijuana replacing man made medications and expensive medical procedures like chemo, hemp replacing trees in products like paper, hemp being used as fuel, and other things. 0 deaths have occurred due to the use of marijuana as opposed to the millions who die each year due to tobacco and alcohol and it will be made legal soon.
