In moderation macaroni and cheese is not unhealthy. It is contains dairy and grain. Depending on how it is prepared, it can be a high in fats. Using skim milk and healthier butter substitutes can reduce the amount of fat it contains. Choosing noodles that contain more whole grains can also be healthier option. As with any high fat food, it should represent a smaller portion of your diet.
