Astronomy is the scientific study of the universe, especially of the motions, positions, sizes, composition, and behavior of astronomical objects. Astronomy is science. Astronomers don't make up stories to fit what they want to believe. They start from an objective point of view seeking to make new discoveries. They observe and study and report their findings.
Astrology is the study of the positions of the planets in the belief that their motions affect human beings and human behavior. Astrology is a belief system that is outside the realm of science because the only way to "know" that the position of Venus is affecting your neighbor is by conjecture. It is not provable or directly observable. In fact, rather the opposite is generally observed; astrology simply does not make predictions that are any more accurate than random guessing would be, i.e., conjecture.

Astrology is the 'prediction' of real events due to the positions of the planets, stars etc. Astronomy works with fixed rules and physics defined through historical observations. Astrology is open to the personal interpretation of the person giving the reading. Each Astrologer will interpret the same data differently. Astronomers are academically qualified people - Astrologers need no formal training !
