But Obama has made public an unsigned "certification of live birth," which "birthers" -- people who doubt the president's citizenship -- claim is not the same as a birth certificate. The Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, two Hawaii newspapers, however, have produced August 1961 birth announcements for Obama. Meanwhile, Linda Lingle, Hawaii's Republican governor since 2002, has confirmed that the president was born in the Aloha State.
