In ancient Greek mythology, Europa was a Phoenician princess whom Zeus abducted and took to the island of Crete.
Later, Europa became a name for the area of central-north Greece, and by 500 BC its meaning had been extended to the lands to the north.
The Euro is the name of the currency used by some countries in Europe. It takes its name from Europe. It is not used in all European countries, as some people think. There is an organisation known as the European Union. It does not have every country in Europe as members. There are over 50 countries in Europe, 28 of which are members of the European Union and 18 of which use the Euro.
A " Euro penny " is a Cent and there are 100 Cents in a Euro (€). Thus, this is called a decimal currency.
Firstly it is called the Euro not the Euro dollar. The abbreviation is EUR. The symbol is €
Germany uses the Euro (100 Euro cents = 1 Euro)
The Euro (€) is divided into 100 cents. They are sometimes called Euro cents to distinguish them from the cents of other currencies. Euro cents are called different names in different languages. For example, they are called 'centimes' in French, 'céntimo' in Spanish and 'λεπτό', plural 'λεπτά' (leptó, plural leptá) in Greek.
