During many cases, being overweight could be an issue. Most of your body weight is supported by the lower back which is conected to the hips. If you are overweight.. I suggest walking every day 4 times a day for at least 15 minutes a time. An average person should walk almost 2000 thousand steps a day! An overweight person should try to walk X2 that amount. I am not stating you should loose all your body fat, even thought it would help. By loosing 20 pounds of body fat, it will help with your lower Back pain. Remember if you are prone to lower back pain, You should start looking into why you had the pain to begin with.. Such as was I lifting something heavy and didnt practice proper lifting techniques, is my bed too soft?

If your bed is soft or extra soft, try putting a piece of plywood between the boxspring and the mattress this will toughen it up. Back pain can last a long time, most heal within 2-4 weeks, by walking everyday not allowing the back muscles to weaken, and taking some sort of muscle relaxant may releive the pressure on your back. Try laying flat on the floor with your knees bent upwards towards a chair.. Remember ice packs for the first couple of days will help the swelling of the back and hips. I suggest if you are not overweight and you suddenly got this insury, try to figure out what you were doing at the time.. Lifting, sleeping, ( sleeping you might of moved the wrong way and pinched a nerve, muscle spasm) Hips hurting all the time. might also associate with layin in the same position all the time. Of course there are numerous reasons why your hips and lower back might hurt, it is best to consult a physician.

Please consult a doctor if pain does not lessen within a couple of weeks contineously taking pain medication without proper dosage and doctors recommendation could be harmfull.

Your lower back or hip pain has two known origins. Either you have problem with your vertebral bones. Or you have so much of stresses. If you have vertebral problems, consult your medical doctor. They may suggest for a surgery. But mind you, most of the vertebral problems solve themselves. Don't hurriedly agree with your doctor for a surgery. Surgery may worsen your problem.

If your pain is because of your stresses, don't worry. You might have been sleepless for days. You might have overworked for days. Or you might have some worries. If psychological factors are the causes of your back pain, take it easy. Relax yourself. Take sometime out of your routine work and enjoy yourself. You will be relieved.
