You do not have to be 18 to model. The only time when that rule comes into play is when it comes to modeling that deals with adult oriented material, namely glamour, nude, implied nude, and Playboy style nude modeling. Additionally, promotional models are usually required to be 18 or older if the promotion deals with cigarettes, while many promotional models are ideally 21+ in order to work for promotions dealing with alcohol.

Fashion models and commercial/print models are often very young when first signed...as young as 13 years of age. Of course you have to meet the requirements for whichever field of modeling you hope to pursue.

Keep in mind that for aspiring models under 18, you must have a parent/guardian 21+ with you when meeting with agencies or signing contracts. Without one, the agency will not deal with you.

[this only applies to the USA - in the UK you can do any modelling from age 18 as the age limits for alcohol & tobacco are different]
