The origins of Panto or pantomime are seated in the middle ages in the UK and some areas of France. The are a source of fun entertainment that took fairy stories and brought them to life. The tradition has carried on since that time. Whilst it has been mainly the UK that have these now many American and Australians celebrities have stared in a wide range of pantos across the UK.

Closely following this, Aladdin, Dick Whittington, Sleeping Beauty, Babes in the Wood, and more popular today, Peter Pan and Snow White. Mother Goose and Puss in Boots are probably not as popular as they used to be. Of course, only my opinion as a director of amateur theatre.
