Why does the thought of your ex-Narcissist who dumped you and verbally and emotionally abused you meeting another girl and being nice to her haunt you?

I just ended my abusive relationship with a narcissist. I do feel sorry for him, because he is mentally ill. Because he will never be able to love in a normal sense. But I am really trying not to confuse that with the fact that he is a dangerous person to those of us who can love normally. I have a lot of work to do finding out who I am and what I want, and while it is perfectly normal to help those who are willing to help themselves...there is no help for anyone who is a Narcissist, unless they are able to recognize it themselves. We do not help them by staying with them. Regret that they are sick individuals, that the relationship was so one-sided, that you gave up so much of yourself to someone who you really could not help....but DO move on. You can love normally, God wants that for you, and he wants you to have someone who can love you back. Don't be unevenly yoked to someone who can't see the light. God Bless you, Mbme

Whether a mental/physical abuser, a compulsive liar or a narcissist, you did have some good times at the beginning of the relationship and now wonder what the heck happened after that. The narcissist has a web of deceit they spin (but in the end it will entangle them into an extremely lonely existence and they have burned their bridges beyond repair.) You are remembering some of the good memories at the beginning of your relationship and you did nothing to deserve the treatment he put upon you. He has basically lead you around by the nose telling you how to act, probably what to wear and also downed you in every aspect of your life. He has been a master of control! Now you are out on your own remembering some of the good memories yet very angry because you feel you allowed him to treat you in this manner. Now he has another girlfriend and this leaves you feeling like you aren't good enough for him. You are just confused at this point, but give yourself time. To soothe your broken-heart be assured that narcissists choose their victims very carefully and this poor girl he is now dating is going to end up in the same boat you were in. Thank your lucky stars and kiss the ground that you are rid of this loser! Losing any relationship is a form of grieving. Grieving is just not for those who have passed on, but you can grieve from a trauma in your life. When you've had some good cries, then it's time to get out in the real world and start dating again. It's also a good idea to get some counseling because your ex narcissist has mentally scarred you. Don't let him win! Don't EVER think all men are in the same category as this piece of trash!
