Easter is the present representation of the old spring fertility festivals borrowed by the Christians. The name recollects the Saxon's Mother Goddess "Eostre" or the season "eastre" (Spring). Creatures and objects representing fertility are is symbols. Eggs are symbol of things coming to life and rabbits, being fecund creatures, are symbolic of breeding success and many children.

long, long ago maybye 9000BC people worshiped a godess called eastre, and every spring they would offer a gift to her. one year there was a rabbit who wanted to offer a present but didnt have anything he could give to her, so he went out to a field to see if he could find anything. he found an egg, and decided to decorate it, and he did and offered it to the godess, she loved it. She and the rabbit made it a tradition to eat/decorate/make eggs. the end.

Where does the Easter bunny get his eggs from?

When Noah had to put 2 of each animal on the ark he forgot about the red bunnies and the white bunnies. As you know when you mix reds and whites in the laundry you get pink.....so when the flood came the rabbit fish burrowed under the around and laid eggs. Every year the red rabbits from underground lay eggs and the white rabbits return to their origins to take the red bunny eggs. That is where the Easter bunny gets his eggs. The short answer...... south Africa somewhere.
