A skeleton is made up of a network of bones. Bones provide a framework that holds the whole body together. Without a skeleton we would not be supported and would be simply flop like a rag doll. This would mean that we would not be able to move about. At birth a baby has 300 bones, but 94 join together in early childhood. Your hand and wrist alone contain 27 bones.

For example, your bicep muscle contracts to exert force on the radius and ulna (forearm bone) to lift it up. Without bones, we cannot move at all.

Blood and B cell production

The bone marrow within the bone is the sole producer of blood cells. It is done through this process known as haematopoiesis. This helps replace old/damaged red blood cells and keep the white blood cell count high enough to counter an attack by a pathogen. B cells, the cells responsible for the humoral immunity (production of antibodies), also mature in the bone marrow.

The skeleton has 5 main functions.

One is to give the shape and strenght to the body.

Another is to that the skeleton is need for movement.

Third, to protect the delicate organs.( the skull protects the brain)

Fourth, for the muscles to be connected.This gives proper movement of bones.

Lastly, it is needed in producing red blood cells which carry oxegen need for breathing. (respiration)
without our skeleton, we would be blobs of formless meat. we would not be able to stand, and movement would be more like the movement of an amoeba.

Your skeleton basically is the frame for your body. If you didn't have one, you'd just be a blob that couldn't move because it was mush! There is no structure for your muscles; they're just limp without a skeletons.
Because without it all humans and animals would have no structure and just be a bag of flesh, fluid and organs.
