the Rasta's say jah Rastafarian which simply means Eternal God Selassie I. why they say
Selassie is because they believe that Selassie whose full name is "Haile Selassie" is GOD, and that he will return to Africa members of the black community who are living in exile.
And the Rasta's mostly say these words when honoring their GOD and then end it with "Jah Rastafarian"
"Glory be to the father and to the maker of creation. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be World without end". Jah Rastafarian
Jah is the Rastafari equivalent to god
Bob Marley was a messenger. He spread the message of truth and love. The truth about RastafarI. The words 'Jah RastafarI' are a greeting/praise that rastafarians use. Jah RastafarI
NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! I&I Rastas do not hate anyone. I&I believe in equality of all people. I&I believe this so strongly, I&I say, "I&I" instead of "we." You might of figured this because many texts talk about "the white mans bible" and how I&I disagree with their bible. I&I Rastas compare western society to the "babylon" that's in the bible, so I&I call western society babylon. what was meant by "white man's bible" was BABYLONS bible because babylonians changed the bible. His Majesty Haile Selassie I, or Jah, reincarnate of Christ, spoke against this saying, telling rastas that it was RACIST and COMPLETELY AGAINST THE WAYS OF RASTAFARI. Jah People are peaceful, not racist.
Bob Marley is a Rasta. That is who he is. Jah RastafarI
If you feel you require permission, contact the chairman of Bob Marley's estate (The Marley Family.) Although to be honest, (not wishing to condone copyright infringement) if you use the quote in a positive way, Bob's family should have no problems with it as they are Rastas, and you are helping to spread Jah message. Jah RastafarI
Rastafarians worship one God whom they call Jah. Rastas see Jah as being in the form of the Holy Trinity, that is, God being the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. They accept Haile Selassie I, the former Emperor of Ethiopia as the incarnation of God.
Norval Sinclair Marley Jah RastafarI
They call Him "Jah". They believe that Jah Is Father, Son (Jesus Christ) Haile Selassie, and the Holy Spirit.
True Rastaman can pray onto Jah anywhere him go. Wether it is inna di church, or inna di sewer. Rastafari give thanks and praise to Jah Rastafari. And I'n'I smoke herb fe Iditate Jah Bless One Love
Rastafari is based on Judeo-Christianity and has the same God. The Rastafari differ from most Judeo-Christians in that most Rastafari believe that Haile Selassie of Ethiopia was (is?) an incarnation of God and/or the Messiah.
Muslim Rastas are Muslims, generally from the African diaspora, who are politically, culturally and socially influenced by Rasta Movement but reject the theological Rastafari beliefs which are in conflict with Islam (such as the divinity of Emperor Selassie).
people at first treated rastas like they were enemies, very few people wanted to be in this religion
