Some people think he is a hero because he helped his kingdom. Sure he neglected his kingdom but he made lots of the places he concord stronger and more popular. He made a city in Egypt he invaded named Alexandria. naming the city after himself made more people come, making it popular. He also made a great empire for Greece. Before Alexander the Great Persia was in power over most of the land near it. when Alexander came to power he defeated the Persians and expanded his empire.

He murdered endlessly, from his own friends to captured Greek soldiers in Persian service, to the hold-out city pf Tyre, and on to those defeated in battles and at his mercy. His vanity was endless, including declaring himself a god as son of Zeus.

Some view Alexander the Great negatively because they see him as a brutal world conquerer and someone who promoted ethnic cleansing/genocide
