Why doesn't any question you ask here get answered?

How long did you wait for an answer? Although there are some "regulars" who cover certain topics, there's no dedicated staff hired to post answers. You'll get an answer when another user is interested in your question and decides to post one. What questions did you ask? This is the only entry from your IP, but that may be because you use a dial-up service or a school/library computer that does not reserve an IP address for you. If you ask a question that has already been asked, the regulars may be tired of repeating the same answer. If your spelling and grammar are so bad the question makes no sense, you are asking for an opinion (Do you think ... ?), or you want someone to write your history term paper, your post may disappear. Ask your question again. If the above post is an indication of how you ask questions, then maybe the question was unintelligible. Proof read your question before posting. "noone" is not a word. State that the question is from "noone" and I will try and answer.

A lot of questions have been answered. Some questions are just unanswerable or are put in the wrong section. When they're put in the wrong section, it is harder for the people that may know the answer to find the question. If one of your questions hasn't been answered, you could make sure it is clearly asking something that someone else can read and answer. In addition, your question may already be answered without you noticing. To be notified when it is answered, you can click the Watch This link on the question's page.

Sometines the question needs to be researched. Sometimes the question is to vague. Mabey there is no one logged in who can answer the question. Another thing that keeps people from getting answers is when people type gibberish as an "answer" to a question, or a comment on their OWN question in the answer box, which makes that question then appear to others on the site as having already been answered. Another thing that helps is to put the question in the correct category, and not just in Miscellaneous or another category that won't lead people to find the question.

Well first make sure your question makes sense and there are no mispellings. Anyway with how many people come onto this site someone is bound to know the answer to your question. Also i just answered this question so eventually someone will answer your other questions.

It may be just that no-one interested in your particular question has read it yet. Patience is the key - you have to remember this site is not 'live' - in that someone has to log in, and search through the questions until they find one they can answer. It may take some time before someone with the right knowledge comes across your question. Remember - this is a huge site - with thousands of questions asked (and answered) every day !

Many questions do get answered.

One thing that you might want to try is searching for answered questions using the search page (Special:Search) and clicking on Answers (so it only searches answered questions). Your question might already be answered, just with a slightly different wording.

We work on answering and merging every day, but of course more people want to ask questions than answer them. If you want to jump in and answer a few as well, that will help someone else. :)

Actually, they do get answered, sooner or later. However, there are things you can do to help make sure they get answered sooner:

1. Ask questions that can be answered. Asking what is on page 58 of a book will not get an answer if you don't name the book. A measurement question without proper units given is not likely to get an answer. (Example: "How many are in a gallon?") Time zone questions which are too relative or don't name both places are likely not to be answered. (Example: "What time is it in Israel now?") Putting just a topic name is not likely to be answered. (Example: "Computers?")

2. Use proper grammar and ask things as questions. Questions usually start with who, what, when,where, why, or how, though they can sometimes have the question word elsewhere. Proper grammar and correct spelling are essential so others will know what you are asking.

3. Make sure your questions are properly categorized. If you can find an exact match, then use it. Use the category search with the words you first think of when you think of the sentence. If you cannot find a good category, then enter up to 3 as close as you can get.

4. Follow the site rules. A very rude question might be ignored for a while without an answer. Or it may be removed with the asker receiving sanctions, and the contributor could be banned. If your questions are deleted, they won't receive answers.

There are millions of answer here. Maybe you haven't asked your question properly.Try re wording your question. People may not have understood what you were asking.
