If you are talking about actual movement gas particles can move faster because of the effects of gravity. If you are talking about vibration rates of molecules and atoms, the gas particles vibrate faster because they are naturally at a higher temp than they would be if they were in the solid phase.

Particles in a gas can move more freely and much faster (if both the solid and the gas are at identical temperatures) than particles in a solid. Rapid expansion of certain explosives is a good example - all turn into gases as they release their energy. Frozen ice is a good example of a solid that shows how slow moving the particles really are. Once heated ice melts and then the particles turn to liquid but until they become a gas (as steam) there is not a lot of speed among the particles.

It is because there are less gas particles then in a liquid or in a solid because gas particles move freely.

Solids=Closely compacted together-000000000000000

Liquids= Can move around+0 00 0 00 0 00 0 00 0 0 0000 0 0

Gas= moves around freely-0 0 0 0 0

Hope i helped:D

Feel free to change my answer, i sort of know chemistry, but don't answer with something stupid, answer with something actually helpful

The amount of space between molecules of gases is greater, resulting in decreased attraction between the molecules, causing them to diffuse more quickly.

Well it doesn't move faster then a gas. But in a solid all the particles are compacted together to make it harder for them to move.

Increasing temperature increases the kinetic energy which increases the speed of particles in solid, liquid and gas.

Because they contain more energy.

Do gas particles move slower than solid particles?

No. Gas particles move much faster than solid particles.

Do particles in a solid move faster than particles in liquid?

No, particles in a solid only vibrate, whereas particles in a liquid are free to move within the liquid.

What is the movement of the particles of liquid?

gliding movement. The particles move faster then that of a solid, but slower than that of a gas.

Particles in a liquid move around just as freely as particles in a solid?

Solid: Locked in a crystaline structure, however they do vibrate slightly. Liquid: Particles are attracted to one another but can flow freely. Gas: Particles move with total freedom.

Does the gas particles move or less than in a solid?

more because gas particles have more energy to move with rater than solid which has little

Do the particles that make up a solid move slower or faster than the particles that make up a gas?

Particles in a solid are held together by tight bonds, therefore only vibrate in a fixed position. Gases, however have a weaker or no bonds at all so the particles move about more about more freely.

Does warm air or cold air make gas particles move apart?

Gas particles, like the particles in all states of matter (solid, liquid, gas) are always moving apart and colloding with other particles. Gas particles have more space in between and tend to move faster than the particles in a solid or liquid state. Temperature only affects how fast a particle moves, therefore warm air makes gas particles move faster and cold air makes gas particles move slower.

Is the sound travel faster in solid than gases?

Yes, it does. This is because the particles in a solid are closer together than in a gas, and the sound can therefore move more easily from one particle to the next, making the sound travel faster.

What in solids move faster than in liquid .?
