They don't want kids buying stuff they don't need. For example, I lost my phone case and I saw an awesome one online, I have the money, just not the permission. It's just like a 5 year old that wants the big teddy bears on toysrus.com!

∙ 11y agoThe internet can be a dangerous place for children. There is a huge amount of the Internet devoted to pornography or things related to pornography. Pornography has been proven to inhibit the front lobe of the brain. Situated in this area is the part of your brain that makes decisions. This can in turn lead to poor decisions on part of the pornography user.
Poor decisions can lead to poorer decisions, thus affecting the individual in ways not comprehended.
This is primarily a problem for older children 11 and up. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Every person in a first world country will view pornography at least once in their lifetime.
Along with that there are many people who use the Internet for wrong things and can lure kids into a trap and kidnap them. Also children can do silly things on the Internet ie. purchase things or gamble

Whilst in school children should be allowed to access the internet. It is a great learning tool however has a lot of inappropriate content. Most schools have a strict "Surfing Policy" allowing children to use the internet for school associated projects, on approved websites. All computers in schools are closely monitored.
