Homeostasis is the conditions the organism needs to work at maximum efficiency. If an organism doesn't maintain homeostasis, the organism won't be able to operate at full capacity.
Living things respond to stimuli that occur inside them. Their temperature also must be within a certain range. Also balances their internal environment.
Stasis is the basis of balance. Homeostasis is the consistent maintenance of balance.
It's when all significant body systems (heart, lung, kidney etc.) are working properly. When one of them break down, the others can fall out of homeostasis and can create a continuous loop of breakdown. That is why "shock" is so dangerous - because it interrupts homeostasis.
without homeostasis, cells within an organelle, or certain enzymes (better yet) can become misshapen or even damaged. if an enzyme is damaged, it can no longer catalyze other molecules. without being able to catalyze certain molecules to another form of molecule your body needs, your body can break down causing you to die.
For humans, homeostasis is a matter of mental and emotional balance as well. People not only require physical balance, but a sense of equality in mental and emotional processes as well. Failing to achieve this, the human animal may behave in strange and erratic ways to reestablish this.It is not necessary to have homeostasis- all organisms do not have it. Homeostasis is the process of maintaining a unique individual environment(for example a set body temperature like humans @ 98.6 F) despite changes in the external environment. For an example of an organism which doesn't have homeostasis is an ectotherm or a pokilotherm(most fish fall under this category). They do not maintain a constant body temperature and basically let whatever the environmental temperature is be their body temperature.
An advantage of homeostasis is that your body is able to carry out cellular processes at a normal rate under a wide variety of external conditions. A disadvantage is you burn a lot of energy trying to maintain your body temperature because the outside temps are so variable.
The chemical reactions that sustain life require specific physical and chemical conditions. The external environment may be too hot, cold, salty, dry, or acidic for these reactions to occur.
all organisms, including this pacific salamander, must take in materials and energy to grow, develp, and reproduce.
To Maintain Body Temperature
Why organism need to maintain homeostasis
to live
what is homeostasis
Homeostasis
All living organisms maintain homeostasis.
homeostasis is basically a big word for balance. a plant needs to stay in balance, or homeostasis even if it's environment changes.
~ kidney and homeostasis..........
All organisms exhibit homeostasis.
All organisms maintain the homeostasis.
what is homeostasis
are unable to maintain homeostasis
Homeostasis.
Homeostasis
lobsters, like all organisms, must maintain homeostasis in order to survive, it just means that they have different requirements for homeostasis than other organisms
homeostasis :)
They have to in order for their bodies to survive
All living organisms maintain homeostasis.
homeostasis is basically a big word for balance. a plant needs to stay in balance, or homeostasis even if it's environment changes.
The cells of multicellular organisms become specialized for particular tasks and communicate with one another to maintain homeostasis. Specialized cells in multicellular organisms are organized into groups. A tissue is a group of similar cells that performs a particular function.
