People have developed a belief that they must be able to connect with anyone at any time about any stupid, unimportant thought that drifts through their consciousness. They've developed a phobia about missing a call or a text message; they no longer understand degrees of importance - they think every minuscule detail MUST immediately be shared. It's a tech induced neurosis.
AnswerSo true! Like those stupid phone commercials with Luke Wilson: "Ooooh, if you have Sprint you can't talk on the phone and surf the web on your phone at the same time! Oooooh, the horrors!" Who on earth needs to be able to talk on the phone while Surfing the web on the phone? Couldn't you, maybe, CALL THE PERSON BACK IN FIVE MINUTES? Like your inane conversations with your friends are so important that they can't be interrupted for five minutes. "You can make reservations for sushi without ever leaving the conversation!" Great, except, why on earth would I NEED to make reservations for sushi without ever leaving the conversation?
I'm so sick and tired of phone companies trying to convince me that I NEED to have the absolute latest technology available.
