The Kurdish genocide occurred as part of Saddam Hussein's campaign to suppress dissent and maintain control in Iraq. The Iraqi government viewed the Kurdish population as a security threat and sought to eliminate perceived opposition. The genocide involved widespread violence, including mass killings, forced displacement, and the use of chemical weapons, particularly during the Anfal campaign in the late 1980s.

Answer 1

Because kurdish people want to get their freedom , and have their own land not associated with arabs . So saddam regime genocide them so as to get rid of the kurdish people and dont ask for their freedom any more but it just make it worse .

Answer 2

the main time of the Kurdish Genocide was in 1988 when the Iraqi people bombed many Kurdish lands. The Kurdish people were a vast population, but they did not have a state of their own. Because of this they resided in many mid eastern countries. this angered the Iraqi government and a plan broke out to punish all Kurds. At first it was just taking all the men above the age of 13 and killing them, then it resorted to using poison gas to bomb many towns. this killed thousands of innocent Kurds all because of their religion.
