Some socialists during Roosevelt's time believed that his New Deal policies did not go far enough in redistributing wealth and power to the working class. They thought that the government should have nationalized industries and implemented more radical economic reforms. As a result, they criticized Roosevelt for maintaining a capitalist system and not adequately addressing the root causes of inequality.
