If you have a family of four or five then the Camry is a great car to have. It has been revamped just this year and now is like any new Toyota car, packed with features. Its premium design is to die for. It leaves an impression everywhere it goes.

this is for safety so engine does not get ruined, check oil level!!
I'm obviously not the only one. Just gettin my Camry 94 checked out at the moment. The Toyota computer didn't show any reading out of range so they don't want to deal with the problem unless your wallet is fit. With mine it is completely random. At Toyota they said they had a case like that before but it was a constant lack of power. They had solved it by replacing the actual distributer (NOT the cap or rotor but the electronic component). It's to expensive to give that a try though. have fun! I spent a fortune chasing a cold start plus engine heat up time, low engine rpm stalling issue which happened in wet weather in a 87 Camry? It seemed like once the choke equivalent function stopped the engine just couldn't cope and would only run if kept above 2000 rpm. No expert could find the cause The was very simple. New plugs! it must have had a humidity prone short - perhaps a result of the spark plug layout.
I took a chance on a fuel filter and it worked. It's fixed, and it runs great!
go to auto zone to get your check engine light codes read. When it blinks that means there is more than one problem. Those codes will most likely help you figure out why your car is trying to die. I have a '98 Intrepid as well and the array of problems it has is amazing. Good luck...
On my '84 21R engine it turned out to be the coil after much swapping & cussing.
The car will act like it has a power loss during acceleration. It may also miss from time to time. It may also not want to idle and can die during idle.
