- They thought ethnic violence may start happening.
- Serbia's power in the government in Belgrade treated Albanian protesters very harshly. Because of thiat, nationalism was spreading to the other republics.
- Slovenia and Croatia wanted independence.
- Serbia wanted to unite the eight million Serbians. 25% of those Serbians lived in a different republic.
- Croatia had a problem with the Serbians who were living in Croatia.

No, never! Serbia tried to stop other countries in path to their independence. Serbia loved Yugoslavia, but unfortunately for serbs other countries did not loved it, so Yugoslavia fell apart. And then Serbia tried to force, with agresion and wars, other coutries not to leave Yugoslavia! Serbs destroyed many towns and killed many people in that wars.
