At first they were friends then they hate each other and Tesla is totally rad!!!!!!!!!

Tesla believed in science for the sake of science, and did not bother with any sort of politics. He died poor and alone.

Edison had a workshop of inventors working under him, all of whose inventions were filed under Edison's name. He was well off from his inventions.

They could be considered rivals, in that Tesla invented Alternating Current and Edison supported Direct Current, two technologies that were at the time competing for dominance (AC won out in the end though Tesla received no benefit from it)

When Tesla came to New York, he started working for Edison. He promised Tesla $50,000 if he could fix a problem with the system Edison used which was with direct current. After fixing the problem, Edison was not a man of his word and didn't the promised fee. Tesla walked out and built his company. soon his alternate system was proved to be more reliable and useful. This started a current war which Tesla won after selling the patents to George Westinghouse. Tesla changed the way the whole world lives. He invented the alternate current system for producing electrify to the whole world. All wireless units have the base in the Tesla coil. Even bulbs we use today were invented by him. The first things we have to know about bulbs lights is that Edison did not invent those, but only improve them by filling them with copper linings of metals. The second thing is that the Edison patent is outlawed in many countries including the United States and the patent used is the Tesla patent 455,069, dated June 30, 1891. In the Tesla bulbs, the union was better and never had a case of one catching fire like the Edison bulbs. He also made them to allow them to turn on wirelessly. Tesla hypothesized that he could transmit unlimited amounts of power to any place on earth with virtually no loss. The first 'Magnifier' was assembled in New York City between 1895 to 1898. In 1899 a larger magnifier was constructed in Colorado Springs, Colorado with the patent "System of Electric Lighting," U.S. Patent 454,622, 23 June 1891. Tesla spent his remaining funds on his other inventions and culminated his efforts in a major breakthrough in 1899 at Colorado Springs by transmitting 100 million volts of high-frequency electric power wirelessly over a distance of 26 miles at which he lit up a bank of 200 light bulbs and ran one electric motor! With this souped up version of his Tesla coil, Tesla claimed that only 5% of the transmitted energy was lost in the process.

They argued because Thomas Edison was supporting the electric flow of direct current, whereas Nikola Tesla wanted Alternating current to catch on. Today, we generally use alternating current.

Why didn't Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla get along?

Tesla vs Edison is a traditional science battle but long since past. Edison had a primitive DC current as opposed to Tesla AC, which is the usual current now a days. both sides had different designs for light bulbs, Tesla being better. Tesla got his 15 minutes of fame at the world fair. they used AC & Tesla's light bulbs. Edison was rich but Tesla died in the red. also tesla was a inventor more of the thinking type but edison was a tinkering man.

Why Nikola Tesla didn't recognize as inventor?

Edison kept discreting him as being jelous of him. This is why Tesla is almost forgoten and died pennyless.

What important things did thomas Edison invent?

Edison didn't invent a thing, he had a whole team of inventors working for him, he just took the credit and filed the patents. Do a Google search for Tesla Edison and you can see what I'm talking about. Edison is one of the biggest frauds in US history and its still being taught to our children today. If you want to learn about a great inventor, do research on Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla was he a modest man?

Nikola Tesla was a very modest man. Unlike his rival Thomas Edison, Tesla was very quiet about his inventions and kept to himself. Edison publicized his inventions, which is one reason why he is more famous than Tesla. Tesla had many phobias and quirks, like he was disgusted with jewelry and was obsessed with the number three. Another way that he was modest was that he was celibate. Even though many women dearly loved him, Tesla thought that by being celibate he would be a better scientist. He was a very quiet person and was never arrogant about his inventions. Not only knowledgeable in science, but also enjoyed things like philosophy and poetry. Edison received more credit than Tesla simply because Tesla never bragged about his inventions and was incredibly modest.

What did Nikola Tesla do after he lost the fight with Thomas Edison?

Nikola Tesla is also known as a great inventor and many people say he was more brilliant than Edison was. Edison is famous for inventing the phonograph, incandescent light bulb, cement making technology, motion picture camera, DC motors and electric power generation systems, battery and several other things we use every day and don't think much about. Tesla similarly invented radio, fluorescent light, AC motors and electric power generation systems. Both these men lived long lives, well into their 80s, at around the same time a century ago. There are big differences between Edison and Tesla. The main one seems to be based on who got the credit for what. Many Tesla fans accuse Edison of having stolen much from Tesla who worked for Edison during his early years. They claim Edison was a thief and that he died a rich and powerful man surrounded by friends because he robbed Tesla and others like him. Meanwhile, Tesla died broke and miserable and lonely with his closest friends being wild pigeons he had enticed into his room at the Hotel New Yorker. Edison fans similarly suggest Tesla was a swindler who deceived investors into financing his ideas with promises he rarely kept. They suggest Tesla got his just rewards. Both versions appear to be true. For example, Edison did not invent the light bulb. Joseph Swan was installing them in homes and landmarks in England years before Edison got his light bulb patented and working. Edison was buying out other people's patents and when Swan eventually sued Edison and won, Edison had to take him in as a partner in Edison's British company. Likewise, a deceitful Tesla managed to convince J.P. Morgan, the world's most powerful financier at the time, to finance his concept for wireless free electricity production under the guise of sending radio messages across the oceans and to and from ships at sea. Tesla was making artificial lightning with Morgan's money that was eventually cut off. Edison and Tesla came to technological blows in the late 1800s when Tesla's AC (alternating current) power systems that are used all over the world today came into competition with Edison's DC (direct current) power systems. As it turns out, Tesla's system was the better one.

Edison is the godfather of General Electric, presently the world's 12th largest company. Both these guys were prolific inventors and became famous for it. But comparing them on a point by point basis, the reasons why Edison died rich and famous while Tesla died broke and lonely become clear based on relative productivity.

What where tesla's jobs?

Nikola Tesla was employed in many places all over Europe and in the United States. After graduating from Austrian Polytechnic in Graz. Tesla then decided to move to Maribor, Slovenia, to be an assistant engineer. After being persuaded by his father, Milutan, he decided to attend another college, Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague, Czech Republic. Because of his father's death, Tesla decided to leave the university even after he just began. That same year, Tivadar Puskas, a famous Hungarian inventor, employed Tesla to work for him in Budapest. Two years later, Tesla moved to Paris to work for the Continental Edison Company. During this time, Tesla started to develop many of his most famous inventions in his head, such as the rotating magnetic field and the induction motor. With recommendation from one of Edison's engineer's, Tesla immigrated to the United States, arriving in New York City on July 6th, 1884. After his dispute with Edison while working with him, Tesla decided to leave Edison's company and start his own.

What does Thomas Edison regret in his life?

One of the main regrets Thomas Edison had in his life was not developing a stronger relationship with his children due to his intense focus on his work. He also regretted not being able to create a successful system for distributing direct current electricity.

What were some of Nikola Tesla's Major events?

Tesla invented quite a number of electrical devices, and others were often credited for his inventions. This is one reason why Tesla refused to accept a Nobel prize proposed for award jointly to him and Thomas Edison... Edison had exploited him so much that Tesla refused to see Edison get credit for his work. Tesla was a scientist and inventor, not a businessman by nature. Thus he accumulated tremendous debts from business losses, and died a relative pauper. It was only an annual $7200 grant from the government of his native Yugoslavia that kept him from being destitute during his final years when he lived in the United States. Meanwhile, others profited enormously from the inventions he actually produced. Guglielmo Marconi stole Tesla's drawings from the US Patent Office, and it was only after an extended lawsuit that Marconi was exposed as a fraud, and Tesla was credited with his own invention. In 1888 Tesla designed the first practical system of generating and transmitting alternating current for electric power. The American rights to this epoch-making invention were bought by the American inventor George Westinghouse, who demonstrated (1893) the system for the first time at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Two years later Tesla's alternating-current motors were installed at the Niagara Falls power project.
