∙ 15y agowell........... tHE PARTICLES IN A LIQUID R NOT IN A FIXED POSITION I.e. a solid BUT in a liquid they r spread apart more. They also have more energy in them. A gas spreads quickly because the particles are REALLY spread out. They also hav a lot of energy in them. If u search in Google images liquid particles you will see

∙ 13y agoWhen you pour something, you are just letting gravity pull one substance through another. This will only work if the substance being poured is denser than the one it is going through.
You can pour water through air. You can try pouring air through water but the water falls around the air and the air goes to the top.
And you can pour solids. Have you ever poured sand out of a bucket?

where as in solids the atoms are tightly packed so it is harder for it to adopt different shapes or to move freely.
