- It's rude - you're interrupting the teacher and the other students
- You're bothering people - many students want to hear the teacher and learn
- You're ignoring the teacher - you're missing part of the lesson and will be behind

∙ 6y agoIt's important because if you're talking while the instructor is speaking or while having class, you are disrupting others and their concentration. Some people want to learn. Talk on your own free time. Your teacher will also get mad at you if they catch you talking in class. Getting in trouble is not fun.

∙ 14y agoStudents should not talk in class because when the teacher is trying to explain things to other people, they cant hear because there are other people interrupting, making it hard to concentrate. But when the teacher is gone, I don't find a reason to be quiet.

Not only will you miss the info given, but it is rude. When you talk to someone I know you want them to pay attention, so does a teacher. We spend many hours getting ready to teach you something and when you talk while we are teaching you loose what we teach. You also take away the right the people around you to learn. If you don't want to learn, fine, but allow others to learn. You have the right to decide to sit there and not learn, but you don't have the right to take away others rights. So, if you want to take the class over or stay in the same grade next year fool around and don't listen this year. It is up to you.
