Actually, women fart 30% more than men on average because women tend to get more fiber in their diets than men, which is the primary determinant of gas frequency and volume. Womens farts are less aromatic because they tend to not eat as many spices or high sulfur foods like red meats, egg yolks, etc. Women also hold their farts for the bathroom while men are less inhibited about farting publicly, however given the lack of aromatics, this remains debatable.

some chemistry questions are so much more fun than others. the gas that escapes out the anus is from food digestion, and from some swallowed air. if the air accumulates in larger amounts, more gas has to pass, that can affect the volume. if you scrunch (there's a fine word!) your body up, creating more pressure on the gas that you do have, when released it will expel at a greater rate, also affecting volume. of course only a music teacher could for sure explain the combination of speed of gas, volume of gas, and tightness of your anal sphincter muscles, but there will be varied tonal quality due to all of these (and maybe some more) variables.
