Well if your garage door has a sensor to make sure nothings in the way check the sensor. There may be something in the sensors range so it wont let the door close. The sensor is usually a small box at the bottom of the door with a red laser coming out of it, though you can only see the laser right in front of the sensor.
If its not the sensor there may be something wrong with a different part, so you should call Customer Service, they might walk you through it.

On my RX 350 and Craftsman opener I just pushed the memory button on the Craftsman opener briefly (the signal light came on next to the button) and released it. Then I pressed the sender in my car within 30 seconds. It wasn't long before the lights on the opener flashed and I then released the Lexus button. Didn't have to hold anything down very long at all.

Open the garage door. Press the 'learn' button on the opener (for less than 10 seconds). Enter 1-6 digits on the keypad, then press enter (light on opener should blink). Test it and all remotes to ensure they didn't get erased from memory. Done.

Just starts to go down and reverses, it is either the senors at the bottom of the track or it is binding on the stop as it starts to come down. Goes all the way down and then reverses, the down limit is set too far and it is trying to travel farther than is possible. The sensitivity may be set too light also. On the opener there are adjustment screws for both the travel up and down and the amount of force that is used before it reverses. Sometimes the sensors can get bumped and knocked out of line. The have a little light on them that will light when they sense each other.
