That's not an easy question to answer since the history of science extends far beyond any written records. All we can say for sure is that prehistoric man must have studied the natural sciences happening all around him. He was no scientist by today's standards, of course, but even philosophers cannot attribute supernatural explanations to natural phenomena without first studying the phenomena. They may not have understood it, but they could certainly study it. But as to who was the first to study natural phenomena, nobody can possibly know for sure.
